About Us Print

PhysicianBetter value. More benefits. Less hassle. As a consumer, that’s what you’re looking for in practically every service you buy. Your medical practice should be no different.

Physicians in Central Ohio are eligible to join the Mount Carmel Physician Organizations.  Physicians who join one of the two organizations are credentialed and can become a provider for over 16 managed care plans, including MediGold and the Trinity Mount Carmel Associate Health Plan.  Member physicians only have to complete one set of credentialing paperwork to participate in all 16 managed care plans, a process that saves you and your office staff time.  Along with participation in managed care plans, physician members also benefit from:

  • A dedicated Provider Relations team that assists in resolving payer issues and serves as your advocated and representative with payers.
  • The ability to participate our clinical integration strategy and clinical quality improvement programs. Clinical Integration is simply primary care physicians, specialists and hospitals working together, using proven protocols and measures, to demonstrate clinical and quality outcomes while at the same time reducing costs and being financially rewarded for these efforts.

Please contact the Mount Carmel Physician Organizations at (614) 546-3000 for more information on how to join.

Clinical Integration Update Print

We are pleased to announce that the CareNet and Health Partners Board of Directors have voted to pursue a collaborative effort that allows CareNet physicians to join Health Partners' network. Since that time, and by a majority vote, the physician shareholders of Health Partners have agreed to change Health Partners' corporate and governance structure to grant primary care physicians membership and ownership in the organization through their practice groups or professional corporations. Through this reorganization, primary care physicians will have equal representation with specialty care physicians in the ownership of Health Partners.

Considering the ever changing and challenging health care environment we face today, we also believe that this collaboration and organizational change will accommodate pursuing the concept of Clinical Integration. While this is not imminent, we have reviewed similar Physician-Hospital Organizations throughout the nation who have adopted physician-directed quality programs that focus resources on both improving the quality of care and ultimately reducing costs. As a result, primary and specialty care physicians have been able to achieve favorable reimbursement for their laudable efforts. This is also our goal.

As a result of Health Partners' organizational change, the CareNet network will cease to exist on July 1, 2009. CareNet's Board believes it will be beneficial for primary care doctors to participate in Health Partners as it has been reorganized because there will be greater opportunities as a collaborative organization than otherwise available if CareNet and Health Partners continue to operate separately. Coming together to create an infrastructure with joint committees and a common purpose will assist us in improving quality, first and foremost, but also affords us the opportunity to present new initiatives to payors.

If you are CareNet physician and have yet to join Health Partners, please contact our office at (614) 546-3000 for more information on the process to join Health Partners.
